Need some help with a guitar purchase?
I am planning on getting a guitar (if only it were that easy!) I need some help deciding which one to get. Money is limited to about 800$. I am really looking at a Gibson SG Special Faded and a Blemished ESP LTD EC-1000. The Gibson is about 630$, while the EC-1000 is 650$. I mostly play some metal, lots of hardcore, little blues, and some hard rock. I am stuck between the two because the Gibson is a Gibson, while the ESP is very nice, plus it has EMG pickups, which im not to keen for, but i can swap them out. I would appreciate it if only experienced musicians would help, or any guitar junky out there.
The ESP is pretty nice, plus I think you'll enjoy the EMG. EMG active pickups tend to have much higher output which is great for hard rock and heavy metal because they overdrive the input stage of guitar amplifiers.

But a Gibson is a Gibson. Your not going to go either way.

Hi. Recently i bought an XFX Radeon HD 4670 and i have noticed an increase in FPS in all the games i play. My old card was a junky integrated nvidia Geforce 9100. but i noticed when i'm in a room on counterstrike or when im on gta 4 and theres alot of people around me or a medium amount of objects i lower to about 17 FPS depending on the game. GTA 4 on lowest settings and resolution 1024x768 runs at average 30 FPS but when im in the city its about 20 something.

Anyways i was wondering if anyone can help me, or give me some advice.
i have a summer job coming up in a few weeks. and im willing to upgrade my computer once i pay off my 800$ debt i have :P.
so im looking for a new motherboard that supports DDR3 Memmory
a new power supply 650 watts+
and hopefully a new processor.

Its most likely your CPU, which you need a 2.60 GHz or higher quad core CPU to make sure the game has enough processing power to process physics and sound, and the graphics card could use an upgrade as well, to a graphics card with a higher bit GDDR3, such as the GTX 260 and its ATI counterpart, as a higher memory bus and speed will help, if your running on a 21" screen or above with a resolution of 1920x1080, and a new power supply, which 300W will not be near enough for a stronger CPU and graphics card, so 550W to 650W will do well for just about anything, other then a dual GPU solution such as SLI / Crossfire, which you will need at least a 750W to power all of the components.
Btw, DDR2 is still very good in game, so there's no need to replace it, and the CPU you have, sits on a motherboard that can take a Phenom II or an Athlon II Quad core easily
Why cant I lose any weight?
I am a 20 year old male, 5'8 220 pounds and around 26 percent bodyfat. I do a arm and shoulder routine once a week that lasts about an hour. Once a week I also do 30 minutes of hardcore shadowboxing for cardio and a quick 15 minute session of bodyweight squats. I will admit that I dont eat like someone on a diet, but the amount of calories I eat per day NEVER goes past 1800. If I eat something junky like pizza during the first part of the day, I make up for it by making the last few meals something like a protein shake and an apple. If I try to eat low cal low carb food only for the whole day, it doesn't fill me up and i still end up feeling kind of hungry. what should I do?
Low carb should never be low cal & you aren't eating nearly enough calories.

Unfortunately, anyone who accumulates over 30# of excess fat is more than likely insulin resistant. Long term ingestion of highly refined carbs "burn out" the insulin receptors on muscle cells, so calories go directly to fat cells, leaving muscle cells screaming for nutrition. Exercise forces muscles to accept glucose out of the bloodstream without the need for insulin.

Most people get obese because their bodies just can't process carbs any more. They become insulin resistant & carbs go straight to fat cells. As healthy as fruit may be, it just doesn't promote fat loss. The body won't release fat stores until the blood stream is free of insulin. In someone insulin resistant, the insulin response is too sensitive & produces too much insulin.

Simple carbs are addictive & can be disastrous to health. The best way to break the addiction is NO carbs for 3 days. Make a batch of deviled eggs, eat one every time you want "something" - have huge omelets with bacon, sausage, peppers, mushrooms & cheese. Meats smothered with peppers, mushrooms & cheese - pork rinds & dip or tuna/chicken/egg salad - sugar free cheese cake. Eat so much you won't feel deprived of anything. By the 4th day, the addiction will be gone & the low carb way of eating will create a natural appetite suppression that makes it much easier to make healthy choices.

You can lose more body fat eating protein & fat (don't eat protein alone) than not eating AT ALL. To lose weight fast, eat all you want, but nothing but meat, eggs, healthy oils, mayo, butter & half an avocado a day (for added potassium). Keep the calories high & the fat percentage high, at least 65% of calories. Green vegetables & some cheese will continue weight loss but at a slower pace.

The first 2 weeks eat several cups a day of (mostly) lettuce & celery, cucumbers, radishes, mushrooms, peppers & more variety of vegetables thereafter - add 5 grams per day additional every week (20 grams day first 2 weeks, 25grams 3rd week, 30grams 4th week etc) til you gain weight, then subtract 10grams. That will be your personal carb level (everyone is different & depends on how active you are.)

Start with meat, fats & salads for 2 weeks and then slowly add in more green veg, wk4 fresh cheeses, wk5 nuts & seeds, wk6 berries, wk7 legumes, wk8 other fruits, wk9 starchy veg, wk10 whole grains. You will learn how your body reacts to different foods.

The first week is just water weight but fat is lost thereafter if you keep your calories high enough. Otherwise the body will strip it's own lean tissue for nutrition. Although that may look great on a scale it will make it MUCH easier to accumulate fat in the future (since all that pesky lean tissue burning up calories will be gone). The body won't release fat stores if you lower calories below what it needs. It will slow metabolism to compensate & store every spare ounce as fat. If you continue lowering calories, it will continue lowering the set point, til it can survive off nothing & store fat on anything. The body will only release it's fat stores if it knows there is plenty of nutritious food.

Eating carbs while trying to lose body fat is terribly inefficient. When in glycolysis (burning glucose as fuel) you have to lower your calories (which slows your metabolism) & exercise heavily to deplete your glycogen stores before burning body fat.

The core of Atkins program is converting the body from glycolysis (burning glucose as fuel) to ketosis (burning fat as fuel). Dietary fat levels need to be at >65% of total calories, if not, the body will still remain in glycolysis by converting 58% of excess protein into glucose (via gluconeogenesis).

It takes minimum of 3 days to convert a body to ketosis, (but only one bite to convert back to glycolysis). People feel sluggish the first week but most feel better than ever thereafter.

Carbohydrates trigger insulin, the fat storage hormone. Protein triggers the fat burning hormone, glucagon.

High insulin levels promote inflammation, weight gain, hunger & unbalance other hormones. Controlling insulin levels will balance out other hormones & allow human growth hormone (HGH) to be produced naturally so lean muscle will be gained even without exercise.

Ground flax seed (4 Tbsp) 1/4 cup water, artificial sweetener, mix in a raw egg - let sit 10 min. to absorb liquid, put cream cheese in the middle & nuke 2 min. for daily fiber needs.

As long as you have <9grams carbs per hour, you will maintain insulin control & shouldn't gain weight, no matter the calories because insulin, the fat storage hormone is not activated. Many people gain weight on high carb, do low carb to lose weight & then are shocked when they return to high carb & gain weight.
